Adventures of Tate: Sleepover at Nana and Pawpaw's

This week Chuck and I let Tate skip school for a couple of days to spend some time with Chuck's parents. Chuck knew he was going to be working late, I was nursing a hamstring injury and we both thought Tony and Cora Sue needed a fun and happy distraction from the recent duties associated the death of Chuck's grandfather. That being said, the three of them had an absolute blast together!

I missed my little man terribly, but looked forward to our telephone conversations (at least two or three times a day). They went something like this:

Tate: Ello?
Me: Hi Tate!
Tate: Hi my mama!
Me: Hi Tate. Are you having fun with Nana and Pawpaw?
Tate: Hi mama!
Me: Hi Tate. What did you do today?
Tate: Hi my mama!

Well you get the picture.

From the reports I received I understand there was lots and lots of time spent at the playground, some hanging out at the house and maybe even some bird watching???? Regardless, a good time was had by all. I know I barely let go of him when he came home on Wednesday.

Following are some pictures from Tate's adventure this week.

Adventures of Tate: The Egg Hunt of '09

Our Church had a big Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids on Saturday. That sounded like lots of fun so, of course, Tate had to be in the middle of it. Though we did not practice before hand Tate picked up on the concept very quickly. Before I knew it his basket was brimming full with plastic Easter eggs filled with all kinds of fun surprises. As the hunt wound down Tate caught up with some of his buddies. Together they figured out that there was candy in the eggs they had just collected. Toddlers are so much fun!!!!

Adventures of Tate: Easter Sunday

Tate had a low-key, but fun Easter Sunday. He rose slightly earlier than I would have preferred, but when does life ever go exactly as planned? Next there were showers and the brushing of hair and teeth and off we went to church. All the little kiddos at church, especially the little girls, looked so cute in their Easter outfits complete with the perfect shoes and hair bows.
After church we had a nice quiet family lunch at Colton's. Once at home Tate finally discovered the basket the Easter Bunny had left him. It was filled with bananas, raisins, fruit snacks and a carrot-shaped Reese's Pieces do-hicky. There was also a set of golf clubs. Who knew the Easter Bunny was into golf? Chuck and Tate had a blast playing with them! The guys managed to take a minute to pose for a family photo, then climbed on the couch for a leisurely Sunday afternoon movie and maybe, just maybe a little cat nap.
